Our Practices

Organic

While not certified organic, we choose to follow strict organic farming practices. That means no synthetic or chemical sprays, no GMOs, and no hormones or antibiotics. We’re committed to raising healthy, happy hogs, and building fertile soil that produces nutrient-rich plants and flowers.

Finishing Diet

Our pigs are raised on pasture and fed a special diet. For the last 60-90 days, they are finished on hazelnuts, which we source locally from McMinnville, OR.

Feeding pigs oil-rich nuts is a farming method used around the world. Spain’s famous Iberico ham is a result of hogs fed exclusively on acorns and Prosciutto di Parma comes from pigs fattened on chestnuts and whey. In Oregon, we have hazelnuts abound, so Matt decided to be resourceful and the result is pork with a distinct nutty flavor. Yum!
